Three new construction projects in North Alabama have been approved with building permits exceeding $1 million, as part of ten high-dollar permits issued statewide.
The approved projects in Huntsville and Albertville include:
- A $1.1 million project at the Hilton at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville.
- A $1.8 million project at MidCity in Huntsville.
- A $1.99 million project by Boatner Construction Company for Emblem Credit Union in Albertville.
These permits are part of a series of new million-dollar-plus construction projects approved in Alabama. Other notable projects across the state include major developments in Birmingham, Oxford, and Pike Road.
In addition to the three North Alabama projects, several other significant million-dollar-plus building permits were issued across the state of Alabama this week, totaling over $25 million in new construction activity.
Here are additional details on the new high-dollar building projects approved statewide:
- Birmingham saw several notable projects:
- Brasfield & Gorrie LLC received approval for a project for Jefferson County Right of Way at 1509 S 6th Ave with an estimated cost of $2.2 million.
- CT General Contractors LLC was issued a permit for a $4.99 million project for the University of Alabama Board of Trustees at 1665 University Blvd.
- A Flying J Travel Center #602 at 224 Daniel Payne Drive received a permit for $3.95 million.
- Oxford saw a huge development project with The Conlan Company being awarded a permit for a $14.84 million project at 5490 McIntosh Road.
- Pike Road also experienced some construction growth with two $3.48 million projects:
- Benning Construction Co and Batson-Cook Company each received permits for developments at 9540 and 9560 Vaughn Road.
Other projects approved include a $1.06 million construction for Tuscaloosa County Baptist Association in Tuscaloosa.
Overall, Alabama is seeing robust growth in commercial, industrial, and residential construction projects across the state. These new permits reflect ongoing economic development in both urban and suburban regions, particularly in areas like Birmingham, Huntsville, and Pike Road, which are experiencing rapid expansion.
These building permits not only signal the state’s continued economic strength but also reflect a growing demand for infrastructure and commercial services across the region, positioning Alabama as an emerging hub for business and development in the Southeast.
