ACS Group Launches ACS University to Drive Learning and Build Organizational Capabilities

ACS Group today introduced ACS University, an initiative aimed at leveraging best-of-industry expertise to deliver advanced learning programs for employees. This new venture is designed to strengthen the organization’s capabilities by enhancing the technical skills and global experience of its workforce.

The university will tap into the knowledge of world-class companies to develop a comprehensive curriculum, starting with ACS Group employees and leaders.

“ACS University will provide access to the expertise of ACS Group companies – including our network of specialists in new generation technology, our innovative processes, and our diverse operations. Our people will also benefit from engagement with leading educators outside of our companies,” said Juan Santamaría, Chief Executive Officer of ACS Group.

The courses, which will be offered both online and in-person, will be created and delivered by employees from ACS Group companies, including HOCHTIEF, Turner Construction Company, CIMIC Group, Dragados, and Flatiron. Additionally, the university will incorporate insights from external thought leaders to broaden the learning experience.

In 2024, ACS University will introduce its first curriculum focused on Culture, followed by programs in Leadership and Operational Excellence, available to employees across ACS Group companies.

A forward thinking step

The launch of ACS University is a forward-thinking step that highlights the growing importance of internal education programs in the construction industry. As construction owners navigate an increasingly complex market landscape, initiatives like ACS University can serve as a valuable model for other companies looking to invest in their workforce.

By combining the expertise of industry-leading companies with advanced learning opportunities, ACS Group is positioning itself to tackle the skills gap that often plagues construction projects. From a construction owner’s standpoint, this kind of initiative can also lead to operational efficiencies, cost savings, and improved project execution through a better-trained workforce.

Furthermore, the integration of external thought leaders signals a broader trend of collaboration beyond company boundaries. As construction owners strive to adopt best practices in leadership, operational excellence, and technology, access to such resources through structured education programs could become a critical part of future success strategies.
