OpenAsset Launches First Australian Office in Melbourne, Names Regional Operations Leader

OpenAsset, a digital asset management and AI proposal writing provider serving architecture, engineering and construction firms, has announced a major expansion into Australia with the opening of a new office in Melbourne. Alongside the new location, the company appointed Liam Nicholls as Director of Australia Operations, marking a new phase in OpenAsset’s regional growth strategy.

The company said the move is designed to strengthen its commitment to customers across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region through more localized support and closer partnerships in a market where it has long-standing relationships.

Built in the UK and expanded toward the U.S., OpenAsset has grown from its British roots into a global partner for AEC firms, serving customers in 22 countries. The company also noted it has maintained strong relationships in Australia since 2008, working alongside regional partners for many years.

With a customer base already established in Australia and a steadily growing footprint throughout APAC, the new Melbourne office represents a more direct, on-the-ground investment in the region.

Melbourne Office Strengthens OpenAsset’s APAC Commitment

Company leaders positioned the expansion as a response to increasing demand for streamlined marketing, proposal development and project documentation tools across the AEC sector.

"We've been privileged to work with incredible AEC firms across Australia for years, and now it's time to meet that trust with a deeper commitment," said Jason Janicki, CEO of OpenAsset.

“Every AEC firm in APAC needs an AI marketing platform to compete in today's market, and we're here to give our customers the partnership, innovation, and support they need to lead their industries.”

OpenAsset said the new office also aligns with its focus on customer-driven development, noting that product priorities and innovation are shaped directly by client feedback and evolving workflow needs. By placing a dedicated team in Australia, the company expects to improve responsiveness, strengthen relationships and develop products more closely aligned with regional expectations and business demands.

New Regional Director to Drive Growth and Customer Engagement

Nicholls will lead OpenAsset’s Australia operations from the Melbourne office, focusing on growth, customer engagement and long-term expansion strategy.

"I'm thrilled to be joining OpenAsset at such an exciting time," said Nicholls.

"The AEC community in Australia is world-class, and I'm honored to help strengthen the partnerships between OpenAsset and the firms shaping the built world. Our mission is to become an impactful addition to the Australian AEC community, supporting the incredible work happening here with tools that unlock creativity and drive growth."

The company also said Nicholls’ leadership will help OpenAsset play a bigger role in the Australian market by connecting more directly with firms that rely on strong proposal workflows, searchable content libraries and consistent brand storytelling across project pursuits.

Expanding Beyond Products to Community Collaboration

OpenAsset emphasized that its expansion is not limited to customer service and product delivery. The company said it plans to become part of Melbourne’s broader technology and business community, similar to its involvement in London and New York City.

With Melbourne known for its growing reputation as an innovation hub, OpenAsset said it is eager to build local partnerships, contribute to the regional tech ecosystem and deepen collaboration across the AEC industry.
