CHICAGO — SHEcon, a woman-owned interior construction and facilities services company, has officially launched a new construction platform designed to support commercial real estate owners, operators and asset managers seeking consistent, programmatic delivery across multi-site portfolios.
Founded by Sheila Loberg Urban, who grew up in her family’s general contracting business, SHEcon was created to address growing demand for scalable construction systems that can deliver speed, accountability and repeatable outcomes across geographically dispersed assets. The company is purpose-built to manage interior renovations, portfolio-wide rollouts and ongoing facilities services across multiple markets.
Programmatic Model Built for Multi-Site Portfolio
SHEcon’s operating model centers on programmatic delivery, combining standardized processes with a trusted network of local trade partners and dedicated field teams in each market. This approach is intended to balance consistency at scale with the flexibility required for interior construction and facilities work, where responsiveness and coordination are critical.
Beyond project execution, workforce development is a core pillar of the company’s platform. In parallel with its construction and facilities services, SHEcon is launching on-the-job training initiatives aimed at expanding access to skilled trades careers. The company plans to partner with local high schools, apprenticeship programs and community organizations to create hands-on training pathways for individuals entering the construction workforce.
Workforce Development Central to SHEcon’s Strategy
By embedding workforce development directly into its operating model, SHEcon aims to strengthen its preferred trade partner network over time while helping commercial real estate owners confront persistent labor shortages. Investing in local talent is expected to improve project delivery, reinforce long-term trade relationships and contribute to broader human capital development across the construction industry.
The company will initially focus its training programs in the Chicagoland area, with plans to expand geographically as client demand grows. SHEcon’s leadership said the phased approach will allow the company to refine its delivery and training systems before scaling into additional markets.
As commercial real estate portfolios continue to consolidate and standardize operations, SHEcon positions itself as a delivery partner focused on repeatability, workforce sustainability and long-term performance across interior construction and facilities services.
