Silver Copper Crossing Connects Communities Across the Colorado River

On Friday, June 7th, 2024, the much-anticipated Silver Copper Crossing officially opened its lanes, connecting Bullhead City, Arizona, and Laughlin, Nevada, across the mighty Colorado River. Festivities filled the air with live music, delectable offerings from food trucks, and a rousing dedication ceremony featuring local dignitaries.

A parade of gleaming motorcycles and classic Corvettes capped off the celebration, symbolizing the bridge's potential to connect not just locations but also passions.

This brand-new marvel of engineering stretches 724 feet, soaring 35 feet above the Colorado River. Fisher Sand & Gravel, the project's prime contractor, deserves recognition for their skillful construction. The bridge boasts precast concrete girders on a foundation of drilled shafts and features a dedicated lane for traffic in each direction, alongside a welcoming pedestrian path on the south side.

Construction began in November 2021, and the project's completion signifies more than just a new bridge. It represents a vital connection, facilitating smoother travel between Bullhead City and Laughlin. Additionally, the project encompassed the construction of a 3.5-mile, two-lane approach roadway on the Nevada side and a 0.2-mile extension of the Bullhead Parkway on the Arizona side, further enhancing accessibility for residents and visitors alike.
