Regional safety leadership is taking on a larger role as contractors strengthen jobsite risk management, workforce training and operational consistency. Bartlett Cocke General Contractors has promoted Aaron Knapick to regional safety director for San Antonio and Rafael Dominguez to regional safety director for Austin.

The appointments place experienced safety professionals in regional positions supporting project teams, employees and trade partners across Bartlett Cocke's Texas operations.

Knapick Brings Field Experience to San Antonio

Knapick joined Bartlett Cocke in 2016 after a 24-year career as a union ironworker. His field background provides experience with the working conditions and safety challenges faced by craft professionals and trade partners.

He is a Certified Health and Safety Officer and OSHA Outreach Trainer. Knapick also serves as Bartlett Cocke's Assembly & Disassembly Director for crane operations.

In his new position, Knapick will support San Antonio project teams, with responsibilities that include reinforcing safety practices and helping identify and address jobsite hazards.

Dominguez Expands Safety Leadership in Austin

Dominguez joined Bartlett Cocke in 2017 and holds the Certified Safety Professional designation.

His work has focused on safety education, coaching and mentoring, with an emphasis on helping project personnel understand both safety requirements and the reasons behind them.

As regional safety director for Austin, Dominguez will work with project teams and trade partners to strengthen safety knowledge, training and day-to-day practices across the region.

Safety Program Focuses on Proactive Risk Management

Bartlett Cocke's safety program incorporates site-specific safety plans, pre-installation meetings, job hazard analyses, inspections, orientations and continuing training.

The company also gives employees the authority to stop work when they identify a safety concern. The approach is intended to address hazards before work proceeds rather than relying solely on corrective action after an incident.

The regional safety director positions provide dedicated leadership for applying these practices across project teams while supporting consistent expectations among employees and trade partners.

Why It Matters

Regional safety leadership can help contractors maintain consistent risk-management practices across multiple active projects and geographic markets. Bartlett Cocke's appointments add dedicated safety oversight in two of its Texas regions while drawing on leaders with field experience and professional safety credentials.

For project owners and trade partners, stronger safety coordination can support workforce protection, project planning and compliance throughout construction operations.
