Canadian construction and industrial maintenance activity is contributing to a new $1.1-billion project award portfolio for Bird Construction Inc., spanning healthcare, energy, public infrastructure and specialized industrial construction. The awards include both new project contracts and extended service agreements, strengthening Bird's involvement across multiple provincial markets.
The Mississauga-based construction company secured the work through new contracts and expanded arrangements with existing clients, including agreements covering maintenance and infrastructure services over periods of up to five years.
Six existing clients renewed or expanded their relationships with Bird through multiyear agreements covering mechanical and electrical maintenance, industrial turnaround work and outage services.
The agreements extend across major industrial and energy facilities in Canada, with contract terms reaching five years.
Other industrial construction awards include work on a new structure supporting Ontario's nuclear sector, a wind energy project in Eastern Canada and a district energy facility in Western Canada.
The combination of maintenance agreements and new industrial construction contracts adds work across several energy-related infrastructure segments.
Bird also secured a significant electrical services scope for a large-scale healthcare redevelopment project in Alberta. The award adds specialized electrical construction work to its healthcare infrastructure portfolio.
In British Columbia, subsidiary Jacob Bros. received several contracts covering public infrastructure developments. The awarded work includes:
These contracts extend Bird's public infrastructure involvement in British Columbia across municipal servicing, environmental infrastructure and institutional construction.
The $1.1-billion award package spans several construction disciplines, including mechanical and electrical services, industrial maintenance, civil infrastructure, healthcare construction and energy-related projects.
For Canadian contractors and specialty trade providers, the awards highlight the range of capabilities involved in delivering infrastructure and industrial work across different provincial markets.
The multiyear agreements, particularly those covering maintenance and outage services, also provide a longer-term component to Bird's contracted work portfolio. The mix of new construction contracts and recurring industrial services expands its involvement across Canada's infrastructure and industrial sectors.
