The Boldt Company has promoted Nate Ortlieb to director of self-perform, expanding his responsibilities across the company's self-perform operations.
In the new position, Ortlieb will help establish and execute standardized processes intended to improve safety, quality, reporting and production planning. He will work with project teams and operational leaders to coordinate resources and support field readiness.

The role also includes involvement in project pursuit decisions and planning for self-perform work, with an emphasis on matching personnel and resources to project requirements.
Ortlieb began his career with Boldt in 2001 as a carpenter apprentice and progressed through several roles before leaving the company in 2018. After working with another local construction company, he returned to Boldt in 2020 as self-perform operations manager.
His experience provides a background in both field operations and self-perform management. Ortlieb also holds an associate degree in carpentry from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
The director role is positioned around creating consistent approaches to self-perform work across Boldt's operations. The responsibilities cover planning, resource allocation and field preparation while supporting project teams throughout the execution process.
Boldt, founded in 1889 and headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, is an employee-owned construction services company with operations across the United States. Its markets include healthcare, power, industrial, education and commercial construction.
The leadership appointment reflects the growing role of standardized self-perform processes in construction operations. Coordinating labor, planning, quality and field readiness across projects can help contractors maintain consistent execution while managing complex construction workloads.
