Two CCI Professionals Recognized for Industry Contributions

Two professionals associated with Corporate Contractors Inc. have received recognition in the 2026 Women in Construction Awards presented by The Daily Reporter, highlighting their contributions to construction operations, team collaboration and professional development.

DaVette Cravens, a senior project coordinator at CCI, was named Hu(wo)manitarian of the Year. Katrina Grant, special projects coordinator at Lowell Custom Homes, received the Industry Champion of the Year award. Lowell Custom Homes operates as CCI’s custom home-building division.

The awards recognize contributions across Wisconsin’s construction industry, including project leadership and the coordination and support functions that help construction teams deliver work effectively.

Project Coordination and Process Improvements

Cravens brings nine years of construction industry experience to her role at CCI. Her work includes developing a comprehensive process manual for current and future project coordinators and providing hands-on training for new team members.

She also mentors fellow coordinators and helps improve communication among subcontractors, project managers and project teams. Her experience has led to assignments involving larger and more complex projects that require detailed coordination.

Grant supports complex construction projects at Lowell Custom Homes, where attention to detail and quality are important throughout the custom home-building process. Her responsibilities include refining internal procedures and monitoring leads, active contracts and preconstruction projects.

These activities help maintain visibility into upcoming and ongoing work while supporting coordination across the organization. Grant also shares her knowledge with colleagues and contributes to efforts to improve consistency and efficiency.

Why It Matters for Construction Teams

Construction projects rely on more than field execution. Effective coordination, reliable procedures, knowledge transfer and communication among project participants all contribute to smoother project delivery.

The recognition of Cravens and Grant highlights the role of professionals who strengthen these operational foundations. Their work in training, mentoring, process development and preconstruction tracking supports the teams responsible for managing construction projects from planning through completion.

The 2026 awards also draw attention to the contributions women make across Wisconsin’s construction sector, including roles that support project management, quality and organizational performance.
