Healthcare construction across the Mid-Atlantic is gaining additional regional leadership capacity as Gilbane Building expands its healthcare team across several major markets.
The leadership changes involve Brad McMullan, who has joined Gilbane as senior project executive, and Ryan Becker, whose responsibilities are expanding to include healthcare construction opportunities and client engagement in Maryland and Washington, D.C.
McMullan will focus on healthcare construction opportunities and client relationships in Philadelphia and New Jersey.
His background includes healthcare work with Cooper University Hospital, Atlantic Health System, Inspira Health System and Hackensack Meridian Health. His experience also includes projects involving Temple University Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University, Summit Health, Jefferson Health and Virtua Health.
The role will cover client engagement and healthcare opportunities from project pursuit through completion, adding regional leadership capacity in two of the Mid-Atlantic's major healthcare markets.
Becker will oversee healthcare construction opportunities and client engagement across Maryland and Washington, D.C. He has more than two decades of healthcare construction experience, with an emphasis on complex, phased renovations in operating healthcare facilities.
Becker holds Certified Healthcare Manager and LEED Accredited Professional credentials. His project experience includes work with Johns Hopkins, Holy Cross, Mercy Medical Center, Howard University and Inova.
His current healthcare work includes projects for Howard University, Johns Hopkins and Inova, according to Gilbane.
The expanded roles give Gilbane dedicated healthcare leadership coverage across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
The focus on active healthcare environments is particularly relevant to projects where construction must be coordinated around ongoing clinical operations. For healthcare owners, experienced project leadership can support planning, phasing and construction activities while facilities remain operational.
Gilbane's leadership expansion strengthens its regional capacity for healthcare construction and client engagement across four Mid-Atlantic markets. The appointments also reflect the specialized project-management requirements associated with hospital renovations, phased work and other construction performed within active healthcare facilities.
