4Rivers Equipment, a nearly century-old heavy equipment dealer best known for its long-standing partnership with John Deere, has officially been named the newest Trimble Technology Outlet, expanding Trimble’s distribution footprint across Colorado, New Mexico, and portions of Texas. The announcement represents a major move in the ongoing digital transformation of the construction industry, where machine control and jobsite automation are rapidly becoming standard rather than optional.
As part of the agreement, 4Rivers will now offer full lifecycle support for Trimble solutions, including sales, installation, calibration, technical servicing, and hands-on operator training. Contractors in the region — especially those in grading, civil infrastructure, utility construction, and site development — will no longer need to turn to third-party technology vendors or wait for distant service technicians to update equipment. Instead, they can now purchase hardware, integrate it with their John Deere machines, and receive support through a single provider.
“4Rivers has earned a reputation for integrity and a commitment to solving customer challenges for nearly 100 years, and we are excited to announce that those solutions now include Trimble technology,” said Ron Bisio, senior vice president of field systems at Trimble. “Our goal is to make it easier for customers of all machine types to adopt Trimble technology, and 4Rivers will help make that possible.”
The new offerings from 4Rivers will include Trimble grade control systems, site positioning tools, and GNSS correction services, as well as access to the Trimble Works Subscription, a scalable financing and deployment model that allows contractors to adopt construction technology without large upfront investment. This subscription approach has been gaining traction among mid-sized contractors who want to increase efficiency but prefer to manage technology expenses as operational costs rather than capital expenditures.
The move also aligns with broader industry trends, where machine automation, remote monitoring, and digital surveying tools are increasingly being adopted as a response to labor shortages and rising jobsite performance expectations. Contractors who once viewed GPS control or 3D modeling as cutting-edge now see it as essential to stay competitive on bid packages demanding faster timelines and tighter tolerances.
“Our John Deere customers have been asking for easier access to Trimble technology, and we are pleased to finally meet that demand,” said Danny Bratton, general manager at 4Rivers Equipment. “Grade control and site positioning systems improve accuracy and profitability on construction sites, and we are excited to offer those advantages to our customers.”
Industry analysts note that integrations like this are becoming more common as equipment dealerships transition from being strictly iron providers to full-service technology partners. For Trimble, expanding its Technology Outlet network is a strategic way to reach contractors using mixed fleets across brands — not just those tied to a single original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
