Minneapolis-based Adolfson & Peterson (AP) has named Brad Hendrickson as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), following his appointment on March 10. Hendrickson, who joined AP in 2021, brings extensive experience to the role, having spent 31 years with Edmonton, Alberta-based PCL Construction before transitioning to AP.
A Career Built on Leadership and Growth
Before stepping into the COO role, Hendrickson served as the president of AP’s Midwest and Southwest regions. His career trajectory at AP is marked by leadership roles, including field engineer, project manager, chief estimator, construction manager, area manager, and regional president, as outlined by his LinkedIn profile.

As COO, Hendrickson is set to oversee all aspects of AP’s business performance. His responsibilities will include ensuring alignment with the company's long-term goals, driving innovation and collaboration, and fostering operational efficiencies. Additionally, he will focus on advancing safety and quality initiatives while strengthening the company’s profitability.
A Strong Foundation with PCL
Prior to his time at AP, Hendrickson had a distinguished career at PCL Construction, where he was the area manager for North Dakota. In this role, he was responsible for the company’s overall performance in the state, further solidifying his leadership credentials.
"I’m honored to step into the role of COO at AP and play a key part in the company’s ongoing growth," Hendrickson said in the March 10 news release. "I will lead with a focus on optimizing our overall operational performance, a key driver of AP’s continued success and our promise to deliver exceptional client service."
Leadership Transition and Future Growth
With Hendrickson’s new appointment, AP is also announcing that David Grandstaff will succeed him in his previous regional management role. Grandstaff, a 30-year veteran of the construction industry, will be responsible for driving regional growth, enhancing financial performance, and focusing on team development in his new role, as stated by AP.
Continued Commitment to Innovation and Growth
Under Hendrickson’s leadership, AP aims to continue its focus on innovation and growth, aligning with the company's mission to deliver superior services while improving safety and quality across its operations. Hendrickson’s deep experience in construction management is expected to help AP maintain its position as a leader in the industry and continue its commitment to its clients.
A New Chapter for AP
Hendrickson’s promotion comes at a pivotal time for Adolfson & Peterson, which is focused on expanding its national footprint and enhancing its operational excellence. With a strong track record of success in various leadership roles, Hendrickson is poised to play an instrumental role in advancing the company’s strategic objectives and supporting its continued growth across key markets.

AP’s Strategic Focus on Operational Efficiency and Safety
AP’s commitment to delivering quality construction services remains a key priority under Hendrickson’s leadership. His operational strategy will include fostering a strong culture of safety, ensuring efficiency, and advancing sustainable construction practices. The company is expected to maintain its focus on high-quality projects while optimizing operational processes.
