Runway Construction Forces Changes to NBAA’s 2026 White Plains Forum

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is adjusting plans for its 2026 White Plains Regional Forum after learning that significant runway upgrades at Westchester County Airport (HPN) will impact the association’s ability to host the event as originally scheduled.

In a Dec. 3 announcement, NBAA said that newly planned improvements to HPN’s primary runway—part of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant project—will be underway during the second quarter of 2026. The timing directly overlaps with the industry forum slated for June 3, making the site unavailable for the event.

According to NBAA, airport representatives were recently informed by FAA officials that the runway work would begin earlier than originally projected. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, which is overseeing the project, plans to initiate construction in spring 2026, effectively preventing the association from using the airport facilities as intended.

NBAA emphasized that while the planned upgrades necessitate a change, the work is essential for the long-term health and efficiency of a major regional aviation hub. The association is now working with partner organizations to determine a revised plan for hosting the forum, with further details expected soon.

“NBAA’s regional forums are essential industry events, bringing together aircraft, exhibitors and unequaled opportunities for connecting in a convenient, one-day format,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “That said, Westchester County Airport is a key economic and transportation asset, and we understand the imperative for the FAA’s runway upgrades. We will ensure that any adjustment to our forum planning is managed smoothly and professionally with all of our event partners.”

The White Plains Regional Forum is one of NBAA’s signature one-day gatherings, attracting thousands of business aviation professionals, hundreds of exhibitors, and a full aircraft showcase. The forums offer highly concentrated networking, educational sessions and industry discussions designed to support operational excellence and strategic business planning.

Despite the scheduling shift, NBAA noted that the 2026 forum will continue to deliver these core elements once updated arrangements are finalized. The association reaffirmed its commitment to minimizing disruptions for attendees, exhibitors and partners as plans evolve.

Founded in 1947 and headquartered in Washington, DC, NBAA represents more than 10,000 member companies and individuals across the business aviation sector. Its events—including the annual NBAA-BACE convention—serve as some of the industry’s most influential platforms for professional development, technology showcases and policy dialogue.
