Bel-Mac Roofing Merges With Seashore Construction to Broaden Gulf Coast Envelope Services

Highlights

  • Bel-Mac Roofing and Seashore Construction have combined operations under the Bel-Mac name, announced Oct. 30.
  • ACACIA Exterior Building Group, based in Alexandria, Va., made a strategic investment supporting the combination.
  • The merged Bel-Mac will offer roofing, waterproofing and coatings, concrete repair, cladding and siding, structural and framing work, and building envelope rehabilitation.
  • Existing local leadership will remain in place.
  • ACACIA’s investment is intended to support operations, workforce growth and larger, more complex projects.

Construction Owners, developers and general contractors in Northwest Florida may soon find more of their exterior scopes available from a single provider. Bel-Mac Roofing and Seashore Construction, two established Gulf Coast contractors, have merged under the Bel-Mac name with backing from a private investment platform focused on roofing and exterior building firms.

Combined Service Lines

Bel-Mac Roofing, founded in 1995, built its business around roofing and building envelope work in Northwest Florida and along the Gulf Coast. Seashore Construction, founded in 2005, brings experience in waterproofing, concrete repair, exterior restoration and construction.

The combined Bel-Mac will offer six main service areas:

  • Roofing
  • Waterproofing and coatings
  • Concrete repair and restoration
  • Exterior cladding and siding
  • Structural and framing solutions
  • Building envelope rehabilitation and exterior construction

Bel-Mac is targeting property owners and managers, condominium associations, developers and general contractors. Those clients can now coordinate roofing, waterproofing, concrete and envelope work through one organization instead of several. That applies to routine maintenance, repair programs and larger renovation or restoration projects.

Investment and Leadership Structure

ACACIA Exterior Building Group invests in established roofing and exterior building businesses and says it keeps local leadership and customer relationships intact at its partner companies. Under this transaction, Bel-Mac’s existing leadership will stay in place, and clients will continue working with the same project teams.

ACACIA’s capital is slated to help Bel-Mac strengthen operations, invest in its workforce and pursue larger and more complex projects. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Why It Matters

For construction owners and general contractors, the merger changes the makeup of the regional exterior trade market. A single contractor covering roofing, waterproofing, concrete repair and envelope rehabilitation can reduce the number of subcontract interfaces on a building envelope project. Bel-Mac’s stated intent to pursue larger scopes also suggests it will seek work beyond its prior project sizes.

For competing specialty contractors in the region, a combined, investor-backed Bel-Mac adds another multi-trade bidder. The announcement did not include specific project awards or capacity figures, so the effect on bidding activity will depend on how the combined team deploys its added resources.
