LARGEST U.S.-CANADA TRADE GROUP ADDRESSES FREE AND FAIR TRADE POST U.S. MIDTERM ELECTIONS

Construction Owners Editorial Team

What: Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) is calling for the federal government to return to the negotiating table with the United States and promote a message of free and fair trade that supports Canada’s critical national industries.

Who: Brian P. McGuire, President & CEO of Associated Equipment Distributors.

Where: 135-B Press Conference Room, West Block, Parliament Hill, Ottawa, Ontario.

When: Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. (ET).

Why: AED members provide the equipment that builds, feeds, and fuels Canada. Their members across North America have been impacted by tariffs and counter-tariffs imposed by the Canadian and American governments, hurting industry competitiveness and the ability for their customers to plan with any sense of certainty. Without certainty, purchases are delayed, investments are limited, and jobs are lost.

Note: Participation in the question-and-answer portion of this event is in person or via Zoom and is for accredited members of the Press Gallery only. Media who are not members of the Press Gallery may contact pressres2@parl.gc.ca for temporary access.
