Clark Construction+1
Clark Construction’s Strategic Partnership Program is helping small businesses strengthen their operations and pursue larger construction contracts, with alumni reporting growth across specialty contracting, environmental services and building technology. The company’s latest alumni profiles illustrate how business training and project relationships can help smaller firms expand their capacity and participate in major developments.
MBE Erectors, founded by Chris Rosendo in 2021, specialises in metal fabrication and installation. Rosendo joined the Chicago-based program in 2023 after 26 years in the steel industry. The training helped the business pursue larger contracts, including work associated with Chicago O’Hare International Airport’s Terminal 3 redevelopment.
Rosendo is also mentoring future program participants while expanding his workforce and equipment fleet. The company’s longer-term goal is to position itself for prime contracting opportunities.
Eco Street Services, led by Jeff Hammon, provides environmental site services across the Pacific Northwest. Hammon joined the Seattle program in 2024 to improve his understanding of heavy civil construction, project delivery and contract negotiations.
Within a year of participating, Eco Street Services secured several contracts with Atkinson Construction. Work connected to the I-90 and SR-167 expansion projects helped the business reach a reported $3.5 million in enterprise scale. Hammon is reinvesting in fleet equipment and employee development to support further growth.
Genesys Impact, a provider of low-voltage systems, audiovisual technology, telecommunications and security services in the National Capital Region, also reported significant expansion. Rob Short, the company’s head of sales and strategic partnerships, joined the Washington, D.C.-area program in 2025 to strengthen his knowledge of purchasing, estimating and competitive bidding.
The company subsequently secured work on projects including the redevelopment of Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Genesys Impact has grown into a $20 million business with more than 40 in-house employees.
Clark’s Strategic Partnership Program focuses on the business capabilities required to compete for larger construction contracts. Training in areas such as project estimating, procurement, contract negotiations and management can help smaller contractors improve their readiness for complex projects.
For general contractors and project owners, a stronger pool of capable specialty contractors can broaden procurement options and support delivery across multiple trades. The alumni examples also demonstrate how targeted business education, project relationships and reinvestment can help contractors scale their operations.
