Metromont has expanded its engineering operations in the southeastern United States through the acquisition of PTAC Engineering LLC, adding established design and detailing capabilities to its precast and prestressed concrete business. The transaction, effective Oct. 5, 2026, brings PTAC Engineering’s four offices in Florida and Alabama into Metromont’s operations.
The companies have worked together for more than 25 years on the design and engineering of hundreds of precast concrete projects. Their collaboration includes the Cascades Tallahassee mixed-use development, Seminole County Justice Center, Clearwater Fire Station 45 and a student housing parking deck at the University of South Carolina.
PTAC Engineering’s integration gives Metromont additional in-house engineering resources and strengthens its ability to deliver coordinated precast concrete solutions across multiple construction sectors.
Founded in 1991, PTAC Engineering provides engineering, design and detailing services for precast and prestressed concrete structures. Its project experience includes specialty precast systems, transportation infrastructure, parking facilities, and commercial and industrial buildings.
The acquisition adds teams based in Pensacola and Tampa, Florida, and Daphne and Monroeville, Alabama. PTAC Engineering previously operated as one of nine businesses within PTAC Companies, a group with interests spanning real estate development, technology and construction.
Founded in 1925, Metromont provides structural and architectural precast and prestressed concrete solutions. The company operates seven manufacturing facilities across South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Virginia and Texas, serving markets that include data centres, multifamily and student housing, hospitality, education, industrial, commercial, parking and sports facilities.
The acquisition brings engineering expertise and manufacturing operations under the same organisation, building on a relationship that has supported projects across several market sectors.
The addition of PTAC Engineering strengthens Metromont’s engineering capacity and broadens its geographic reach in Florida and Alabama. For contractors and project owners using precast systems, the expanded organisation brings design, detailing and manufacturing capabilities within a single provider, supporting coordination across the development and delivery of precast structures.
