Corporate sponsorships and employee-led fundraising initiatives continue to provide opportunities for construction companies to support community organizations beyond their project operations. Mortenson has been named the Local Presenting Sponsor of the 2027 Bike MS: MS 150 Minnesota, a two-day cycling fundraiser organized by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The event will take place June 12-13, 2027, with a route connecting Duluth and White Bear Lake, Minnesota. The sponsorship builds on Mortenson's 17-year involvement in the annual ride through employee participation, fundraising and volunteer support.
Team Mortenson has raised more than $1.2 million for the National MS Society through its participation and sponsorship activities over the past 17 years.
During the 2026 event, more than 60 riders and supporters generated $215,000 in fundraising contributions. The team includes Mortenson employees, family members, trade partners and customers.
The 2027 sponsorship is expected to expand participation opportunities, with employees, business partners and community members invited to join the team as cyclists, volunteers or donors.
Proceeds from Bike MS support research, advocacy programs and services for individuals and families affected by multiple sclerosis.
The National MS Society was established in 1946 and supports research initiatives, policy advocacy and programs intended to improve the lives of people affected by the disease.
The first MS 150 cycling event was held in Minnesota in 1980. Bike MS has since expanded into a nationwide fundraising series with more than 50 rides annually.
Mortenson's sponsorship demonstrates the role of employee participation and corporate partnerships in supporting community-based initiatives within the construction industry. The company's 17-year involvement and more than $1.2 million in contributions highlight the scale of its ongoing support for the National MS Society.
The 2027 event will provide another opportunity for construction employees, trade partners and customers to participate in fundraising and community engagement activities.
