DOL to Host Free Prevailing Wage Webinars in June and September

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division will host a series of free virtual training sessions this year aimed at improving understanding and compliance with prevailing wage laws for those involved in federally funded projects. The webinars are designed for contractors, subcontractors, contracting agencies, labor unions, and workers engaged in construction and service contracts supported by federal funding.
According to the department, these educational seminars are scheduled for June 25–26 and September 24–25, 2025, and will include sessions focused on key legislation such as the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts and the Service Contract Act. Each two-day event will offer attendees the flexibility to select the sessions that best fit their needs.
“These events help educate federal contractors seeking opportunities to employ skilled workers in communities across America,” the department said in a statement. “These programs are part of the department’s commitment to providing employers with useful training and assistance to avoid non-compliance with prevailing wage laws.”
The webinars are part of a broader outreach effort by the Wage and Hour Division to promote awareness and improve compliance across the construction and service sectors, especially as the federal government continues to fund major infrastructure and public service projects nationwide.

Registration is required to attend, but there is no cost to participate. Once registered, attendees will receive follow-up information including links to the online sessions and resources for continued learning.
In addition to helping federal contractors understand their responsibilities, the seminars also aim to protect workers by ensuring they are paid fairly for their labor under applicable federal wage laws. The Davis-Bacon Act, for instance, mandates that laborers and mechanics employed on federal construction projects receive no less than the locally prevailing wages and fringe benefits for corresponding work on similar projects in the area. The Service Contract Act similarly covers service employees working under federal contracts.
The Department encourages interested parties to learn more about these laws and register for the upcoming webinars by visiting its website or calling the toll-free helpline at 1-866-4US-WAGE (487-9243).
