Caroline Raffetto

WATSONVILLE, Calif.—Granite (NYSE: GVA) Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer James A. “Jim” Radich has officially announced his retirement effective July 4, 2025. In light of this decision, Granite will not appoint a direct successor to the COO position. Instead, operational leadership responsibilities will be redistributed, with Senior Vice Presidents of Construction Brian R. Dowd, Michael G. Tatusko, Bradley J. Williams, and Senior Vice President of Materials Bradly J. Estes reporting directly to Granite President and CEO Kyle Larkin.

Kyle Larkin remarked on Radich’s retirement:
“Having joined Granite in 1980, Jim’s numerous and meaningful contributions to Granite span decades. Jim’s leadership has been instrumental as we transformed the company over the last four years, and we are all grateful for his service to Granite. We will miss him and wish Jim and his family all the best as he enters this next phase of his life.”

As COO, Radich played a critical role in managing the company’s day-to-day operations, ensuring robust reporting structures, and overseeing personnel and systems essential to meeting Granite’s operational and financial objectives. His leadership was pivotal during a transformative period for Granite, helping position the company as a top-tier infrastructure contractor.

Radich’s career at Granite includes a wide range of leadership roles with increasing responsibility. Starting as a project manager for major heavy civil projects, he advanced to chief estimator and then vice president and regional manager for northern California. His extensive experience spans the full spectrum of construction disciplines across regions from Alaska to Southern California, including tunneling, marine construction, structural work, underground projects, and earthwork. Radich’s tenure outside Granite from 1993 to 2011 added to his depth of industry knowledge. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Santa Clara University and is a registered civil engineer in California.
