The work covers the All American Boulevard corridor as well as portions of Kennedy Boulevard, including intersection upgrades and roadway widening designed to improve vehicle flow and safety. The scope also includes a new alignment connection at Clarcona Ocoee Road and Edgewater Drive, along with enhancements to the Kennedy Boulevard and Forest City Road intersection.

The project is being delivered by Granite Construction under a contract funded through Orange County Public Works in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation. Utility coordination support is also part of the broader project delivery structure.

For contractors and infrastructure developers, the award reflects continued investment in roadway capacity expansion projects across fast-growing metropolitan regions in the United States. Transportation agencies in high-growth states such as Florida are prioritizing corridor upgrades to address congestion pressures driven by population growth, commercial development and freight movement.

The project is scheduled to begin construction in June 2026, with completion expected in January 2029. The multi-year timeline reflects the complexity of working in active urban corridors where phased construction, traffic management and utility relocation are required.

Roadway widening and intersection redesign projects of this type often require significant coordination between contractors, local agencies and utility providers. These projects also present opportunities for civil contractors specializing in grading, paving, drainage improvements and traffic infrastructure upgrades.

As infrastructure funding continues to flow through state and federal programs, roadway modernization remains one of the most active sectors in public construction. Projects like the Orange County expansion highlight the ongoing need for capacity improvements in suburban and urban growth corridors.

What This Means for Construction Owners

For construction owners and developers, the Orange County project underscores sustained demand for civil infrastructure contractors in high-growth markets, particularly in roadway expansion and congestion relief projects.

Firms with experience in phased construction, traffic control and multi-agency coordination are likely to remain competitive as transportation departments continue prioritizing corridor upgrades. The long delivery timeline also highlights the importance of cost stability, scheduling discipline and utility coordination expertise in securing and executing public infrastructure contract.
