Custom residential construction in Northern Utah is expanding into private ski-oriented communities, creating demand for large, site-specific homes designed around mountain terrain. Peterson Builders is preparing to construct Villa Del Cielo, a roughly 7,851-square-foot residence in the Shelter Hill neighborhood at Powder Haven in Eden, Utah.

Villa Del Cielo Construction Plans

The two-level custom residence is being designed by Bertoldi Architects, which is also handling the interior design. Peterson Builders is serving as the builder.

The design incorporates vertical wood siding, a stone exterior base, low-slope shed roofs and oversized windows. The downhill side of the residence will include a walkout lower level and covered outdoor deck areas that respond to the site's mountain setting.

Peterson Builders plans to document the construction process from initial site work through completion, including progress photography and project documentation.

Shelter Hill Development Activity

Villa Del Cielo is planned within Shelter Hill, a ski-in, ski-out neighborhood at Powder Haven. The development includes residential homesites positioned around private skiing and mountain views. Powder Haven has continued infrastructure and residential development in the area as additional neighborhoods and amenities move forward.

The broader Powder Haven development has also included road and infrastructure work supporting residential construction. Earlier development activity in Shelter Hill included the rollout of numerous ski-in, ski-out homesites, while additional neighborhoods have been introduced as the project expands.

Implications for Custom Home Construction

The project illustrates the specialized construction requirements associated with large custom residences in mountain environments. Site conditions, exterior material selection, building envelope detailing and coordination between architecture and construction teams are significant considerations for projects built in high-elevation locations.

For custom-home builders, architects and specialty contractors, continued development at Powder Haven represents an active pipeline for residential construction and related trade work in Northern Utah.
