Kinsley Construction has officially completed work on the new Harvest Hall at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, replacing the decades-old Farm and Garden Building that previously occupied the site. The construction firm announced the project’s completion on Tuesday, marking a significant upgrade to one of Baltimore County’s most recognizable civic venues.

The project began with the demolition of the former 62-year-old structure, which had long served as a key centerpiece during the annual Maryland State Fair. In its place now stands a 10,000-square-foot, climate-controlled building designed to support a wide array of year-round programming and expand the fairgrounds’ capabilities.

According to Kinsley Construction, the new Harvest Hall “extends the fairgrounds’ functionality beyond its traditional role during the annual Maryland State Fair,” reflecting broader goals outlined by the Maryland State Fair & Agricultural Society Inc., the private nonprofit that partnered with Kinsley for the project.

Construction of the facility started in May and wrapped up in November, staying on a tight schedule to ensure the building could serve upcoming events and community needs. Situated in Timonium, the new hall is designed as a flexible multipurpose venue and will host activities not only during the state fair but throughout the entire year.

The organization noted that the space will continue to highlight Maryland’s agricultural roots, with the hall serving as a venue for farm and garden exhibits. Beyond its fair-related use, the facility will be available for educational programming, meetings, receptions, conventions and private events — part of a broader push to increase the fairgrounds’ value as a community asset.

Inside, the hall features a welcoming lobby, restrooms, a large event hall, dedicated storage, prep areas and office space, giving it the infrastructure necessary to accommodate events of various scales and formats.

Kinsley Construction, headquartered in York, Pennsylvania, with additional offices across Maryland, Virginia and Delaware, continues to expand its presence in the region through public, commercial and community-focused construction projects such as Harvest Hall.
