Federal investment in military infrastructure continues to generate opportunities for design and engineering firms supporting long-term installation modernization. Jacobs has been selected by Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Washington to provide architectural and engineering services under a multiyear indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract serving Navy and Marine Corps facilities throughout the National Capital Region.
Under the contract, Jacobs will provide planning and design services for projects located at military installations in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia.
The scope includes the design of new buildings, modernization of existing facilities and infrastructure improvements involving utilities, roadways and site systems. The work is intended to support day-to-day installation operations while enhancing long-term functionality across defense facilities.
The engineering program is focused on maintaining and improving military infrastructure that supports operational readiness and facility performance. Projects delivered under the IDIQ contract may address a range of installation requirements as individual task orders are issued throughout the contract period.
Jacobs has extensive experience delivering design, engineering, environmental and program management services for federal agencies and defense-related infrastructure projects.
Ongoing modernization of military installations remains a significant source of public-sector construction and engineering work across the United States. IDIQ contracts provide federal agencies with flexible procurement mechanisms for delivering multiple facility and infrastructure projects over several years.
For construction owners, engineering firms and specialty contractors, long-term defense contracts create opportunities across building construction, utility systems, transportation infrastructure and site development supporting military operations.
