Executive leadership continues to play an increasingly important role in shaping the construction industry's future, extending beyond project delivery into community engagement, workforce development and business innovation. That broader impact was highlighted with the inclusion of JE Dunn Construction Vice President Kirk McClure in the Sun Devil 100 Class of 2026.
The annual recognition program celebrates Arizona State University alumni who hold leadership positions in organizations demonstrating significant business performance and growth.
McClure, who serves as a vice president with JE Dunn Construction, was selected as part of a class representing business leaders from multiple industries and geographic regions.
A graduate of Arizona State University, McClure earned a degree in Urban Planning and Design before later completing an MBA focused on international business. His career has included leadership responsibilities within the construction sector as well as involvement in charitable and community-focused initiatives.
In addition to his work in construction, McClure founded The Stadium Classic, a nonprofit golf event that raises funding for charitable organizations. The initiative has supported multiple nonprofit beneficiaries and awarded significant charitable contributions through its annual fundraising efforts.
The Sun Devil 100 Class of 2026 includes leaders from 162 companies operating across several states and countries. Collectively, the organizations represented in this year's class reported nearly $75 billion in revenue during the 2024 fiscal year and employ approximately 219,000 professionals.
The program highlights the influence that alumni-led organizations have on economic development, job creation and industry advancement across a wide range of sectors, including construction.
As construction companies navigate workforce challenges, technological change and evolving market demands, leadership development has become a strategic priority. Industry executives who combine operational expertise with community involvement and business stewardship often help strengthen company culture and long-term organizational performance.
Recognition programs that spotlight leadership achievements can also help reinforce the importance of professional development and industry engagement throughout the construction sector.
