Kintetsu Group Holdings Co. has officially broken ground on its latest U.S. hospitality venture — a 217-room hotel in Plano, Texas, positioned northeast of Dallas. The development will operate under the company’s Miyako Hotels & Resorts brand, marking another step in the Japanese conglomerate’s expansion into the American luxury lodging market.

Inside, guests will be welcomed with a full spectrum of cultural experiences. The hotel will feature:
While Kintetsu has not released a public statement in this announcement, the project represents a continued rise of Japanese-branded luxury hotels across major U.S. business hubs, with Plano being a strategic choice due to its proximity to major corporate headquarters such as Toyota North America, Panasonic, and NTT Data.
Industry analysts suggest that the inclusion of both refined dining and wellness-focused amenities could position the Miyako Hybrid Hotel Plano as a new center for executive travel, cultural tourism, and upscale events in the region.
With groundbreaking now underway, construction activity is expected to ramp up quickly as Kintetsu and its partners prepare to bring a distinct fusion of Japanese hospitality and Texas commercial energy to one of the nation’s fastest-growing suburban markets.
