On December 10, 2024, PCL Construction Enterprises Inc. celebrated Colorado Gives Day by announcing a significant fundraising achievement, raising nearly $630,000 for Mile High United Way. This amount surpassed the company’s initial $475,000 target and added to a remarkable 27-year total of $21.2 million. The funds will support vital community initiatives that address pressing challenges such as providing vulnerable children with a strong start, enhancing education and academic achievement, and creating economic opportunities for families.

In addition to the generous donations, PCL also contributed $35,000 to support Women United, an initiative focused on connecting women with crucial resources like safe housing, job opportunities, and childcare services. PCL also sponsored the annual Women United Luncheon.

In 2023 alone, Mile High United Way invested $25.5 million to help nearly 700,000 people through programs targeting housing stability, early childhood education, and workforce development. Under the theme “PCL Dream Builders: Constructing a Better Future,” 190 employees and retirees participated in direct donations, which were matched by PCL, in a united effort to create lasting change.

“Raising more than half a million dollars for Mile High United Way shows the commitment of PCL employees to supporting their communities,” said Deron Brown, PCL president and chief operating officer, U.S. operations. “We’re proud to support an organization making a real difference for nearly 30 years.”

PCL’s dedication to the cause extended beyond financial support. Employees assembled 80 school supply kits for Mile High United Way’s HIPPY program and wrote nearly 100 thank-you cards to volunteers at the organization’s 211 call center. The campaign included a variety of events, such as a golf tournament with 28 sponsors, a kickoff celebration highlighting the PCL-Mile High United Way partnership, daily raffles, virtual bingo, and cosmic bowling.

“We are so grateful for PCL’s nearly 30-year partnership. They continue to make a lasting impact on our community through their generosity and employee involvement,” said Christine Benero, president and CEO of Mile High United Way. “In the last two years alone, PCL and its employees have donated over $1 million, with more than 80% participation—demonstrating their dedication to improving lives throughout Metro Denver. PCL builds hope.”
