The She Builds Nation 2026 Survey wants to hear directly from women in the trades—because real change starts with real voices.
You’ve worn a safety vest that didn’t fit right. You’ve searched for a restroom on a jobsite that wasn’t built with you in mind. You’ve had your experience questioned by someone half your tenure. Maybe you’ve pushed through all of it without saying a word—because that’s just what you do.
But here’s what we know: those experiences matter. And the She Builds Nation 2026 Survey was built specifically to capture them.
This isn’t just a data-gathering exercise. It’s a collective voice. And we’re asking you to add yours.
The survey covers the everyday realities that shape your experience on the jobsite. The questions are grounded, practical, and honest—because women in the trades deserve to be asked the right questions, not just the comfortable ones.

A harness designed for a man’s body is not just uncomfortable—it can be dangerous. Safety vests, gloves, and protective gear that don’t fit properly put women at real risk. The survey asks how often gender-specific PPE is made available to you without you having to fight for it.
Because you shouldn’t have to fight for equipment that keeps you safe.
Access to a private, sanitary restroom isn’t a luxury—it’s a basic condition of a worksite that acknowledges women belong there. We’re asking how consistently those facilities exist, and whether maternity-friendly equipment like adjustable harnesses and accommodating vests are available when women need them.
Has your expertise been questioned when it shouldn’t have been?
Have you been interrupted or talked over in the middle of making your point? These aren’t small slights—they’re patterns that chip away at confidence, culture, and careers. The survey asks about these moments because measuring them is the first step toward addressing them.
The construction industry is growing, but advancement opportunities for women haven’t always kept pace. We’re asking about access to mentorship, pathways to leadership, and how easy or hard it is to find your footing in a culture that wasn’t always built with you in mind. Your answers help identify where the gaps are widest—and where meaningful progress is being made.
The She Builds Nation 2026 Survey is led by ConstructionOwners.com in partnership with Lumber, BuilderFax, Workify Staffing, and Ambition Theory. Together, these organizations are committed to understanding where the industry stands—and using that understanding to push it forward.
The findings will be compiled into the 2026 She Builds Nation report, which will measure what has improved since previous years and identify where meaningful change is still urgently needed. Your response—anonymous, protected, and treated with care—directly shapes those findings.
Your privacy is protected. All responses are anonymous.
Results are reported only in aggregate—your name, contact details, and individual answers will never be shared publicly or sold to third parties. Your name and email are collected only to prevent duplicate submissions and to optionally contact you if you choose to participate in future conversations.

It takes just a few minutes. The impact lasts much longer.
If you’re a woman working in construction or the trades—whether you’re in the field, in the office, or running your own operation—this survey is for you. Your experience is the data. Your voice is the point.
And if you know someone who should take it? Share it. The more tradeswomen who respond, the stronger and more accurate the 2026 She Builds Nation report will be—and the harder it becomes for the industry to look the other way.
Because you’ve already done the hard work of showing up. The least the industry can do is listen.
Are You a Women Leader in the Trades?
At the end of the survey, women leaders have the option to share additional details if they’re interested in being featured in podcasts or interviews. This is entirely separate from your survey responses and has no influence on the data. It’s simply an opportunity to share your story with a wider audience—on your terms.
