Angelica Rosales, Texas director of development for Sundt Construction, has been selected for a second term on the Governor’s Commission for Women by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. The statewide commission is tasked with advancing strategies aimed at supporting women-owned businesses, addressing human trafficking concerns and promoting outreach programs tied to foster care and adoption services.
Rosales, an El Paso native, brings more than two decades of leadership experience in business development and management. Her professional and civic involvement spans healthcare governance, economic development and nonprofit advocacy throughout Texas.
In addition to her role at Sundt, Rosales serves in leadership and advisory positions with organizations including The Texas Lyceum, The Hospitals of Providence East Campus, The Borderplex Alliance and Make-A-Wish North Texas. She also serves as vice chair of the Heart Gallery of El Paso, an organization supporting foster care and adoption awareness efforts.
The appointment highlights a broader trend within the construction industry as major contractors increasingly place executives in public policy, workforce and civic leadership roles. Construction firms facing long-term labor shortages and evolving workforce demographics are investing more heavily in community engagement, inclusion initiatives and public-private partnerships tied to economic development.
Rosales has previously been recognized for her business and community leadership, including honors tied to women’s advocacy and regional economic impact. She also founded three nonprofit organizations supporting women and children in the El Paso area.
Sundt Construction, one of the nation’s largest employee-owned general contractors, maintains operations across multiple sectors including transportation, water infrastructure, renewable energy, advanced facilities and industrial construction. The company employs more than 5,000 people and operates offices throughout several states.
Industry observers note that executive appointments to state commissions and policy advisory boards can strengthen relationships between contractors, public agencies and local business communities. Such involvement may also influence workforce policy discussions, supplier diversity initiatives and infrastructure planning priorities in rapidly growing regions.
