Custom home builders across Texas continue to see sustained demand for build-on-your-land housing as homeowners prioritize flexible layouts, rural properties and personalized design features. Tilson Homes recently highlighted a completed custom residence in San Jacinto County that demonstrates ongoing interest in adaptable floor plans and expanded indoor-outdoor living spaces.

Tilson Homes completed the custom Palo Duro C home for the Hintzel family on privately owned land in San Jacinto County, Texas. The residence includes three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms and a split-bedroom configuration designed to separate the primary suite from secondary living areas.
The Palo Duro floor plan centers the kitchen, dining and family room within an open-concept layout intended to support shared living spaces while maintaining bedroom privacy. The exterior incorporates farmhouse-style architectural elements, including board-and-batten siding, decorative gable details and an extended covered front porch.
The project also included an expanded rear porch with vaulted timber framing and tongue-and-groove wood ceiling finishes designed to support outdoor gathering space overlooking the wooded property.
The residence includes several upgraded interior finishes and customized design selections. The kitchen features a large green island, quartz countertops, white shaker cabinetry and matte-black fixtures integrated with stainless steel appliances.
The primary bathroom includes a glass-enclosed wet-room layout with a freestanding soaking tub, dual shower stations and tile finishes extending throughout the enclosure. Secondary bedrooms were designed with walk-in closets, while the utility room incorporated additional cabinetry, patterned flooring and dedicated workspace functionality.
Tilson Homes also incorporated cathedral ceilings into the family room, creating a continuous visual connection between the main living area and the rear outdoor space.
Texas continues to experience steady activity in rural and semi-rural residential construction markets as homeowners seek larger lots and customizable housing options outside dense urban areas. Build-on-your-land construction programs have become increasingly common among regional homebuilders operating in counties surrounding major metropolitan areas.
For contractors, developers and residential construction suppliers, projects such as the Palo Duro C residence reflect continued buyer interest in flexible floor plans, outdoor living amenities and higher-end interior finish packages within custom single-family construction.
