Leading the ranking are Suffolk, Summit Contracting Group, CBG Building Company, Clark Group, STO Building Group, Whiting-Turner, McShane Companies, and Swinerton, reflecting their dominance in the multifamily housing sector.

The report evaluates firms based on revenue from all multifamily work, including apartments, condominiums, student housing, and senior living facilities. Suffolk tops the list with $2.06 billion, followed by Summit Contracting Group at $1.13 billion and CBG Building Company at $1.04 billion.

“These rankings showcase the firms leading innovation, scale, and quality in multifamily construction,” said David Barista, Editorial Director at BD+C. “Their leadership in delivering complex housing projects underlines the critical role of experienced contractors in shaping urban living environments.”

The list underscores the continued growth of multifamily housing, driven by urbanization trends and increased demand for rental, student, and senior housing. The report also provides insights for architects, engineers, and developers seeking to collaborate with top-tier contractors.

Other notable firms in the top 20 include JE Dunn Construction, Balfour Beatty US, Weis Builders, ARCO Construction, Landmark Construction, Harkins Builders, and Brasfield & Gorrie, reflecting a mix of national and regional players with substantial multifamily portfolios.

With over 700 multifamily contractors and CM firms evaluated, the ranking also serves as a benchmark for industry performance and market trends.
