The completion of a major higher-education facility in downtown Fort Worth advances development of a new Texas A&M University System campus and expands capacity for professional and technical education in the region. Turner, working with CARCON Industries and Source Building Group, has completed the Law and Education Building at Texas A&M-Fort Worth.
The facility is the first phase of the campus development program and provides space for multiple academic institutions and disciplines.
The Law and Education Building contains approximately 238,000 square feet across eight stories. The facility houses professional education programs associated with Texas A&M University, Tarleton State University and the Texas A&M School of Law.
Additional Texas A&M programs focused on engineering, agriculture and health sciences will also use the building.
The project is intended to bring multiple academic programs together within the Fort Worth campus, providing space for interaction among students, faculty and industry partners.
The building's opening marks an early milestone in the broader development of the Texas A&M-Fort Worth campus in downtown Fort Worth. Turner, CARCON Industries and Source Building Group delivered the facility as a joint venture.
The project follows an earlier construction milestone on the Law and Education Building, which was part of the campus's initial development phase.
For construction owners and developers involved in higher-education projects, the project demonstrates the scale and coordination required when a new academic campus is developed in phases. A single facility can also accommodate programs spanning law, engineering, health sciences and other disciplines, allowing institutions to consolidate educational functions within a larger campus framework.
The opening gives Texas A&M-Fort Worth a completed academic facility for multiple professional and technical programs while establishing the physical foundation for subsequent campus development. For construction stakeholders, the project highlights continued investment in higher-education facilities that combine academic, professional and workforce-oriented uses within urban development programs.
