Turner Marks 123 Years with Global Service Month for Underserved Youth

Turner Construction Company is marking its 123rd anniversary with a global call to service. Throughout the month of May, more than 13,000 Turner employees across the globe are participating in the company’s annual Founders’ Month, a celebration rooted in community service and social impact.

Founded in May 1902, Turner has evolved into one of the largest construction management companies in the world. But each year, the company pauses to reflect on its origins—not with fanfare, but with a commitment to giving back. Founders’ Month serves as a living tribute to Turner’s legacy and the values that have guided it for over a century.

Turner teams from coast to coast and around the world are stepping away from the jobsite and into their communities. Whether it’s hosting food and supply drives, renovating community centers, supporting healthcare facilities, or organizing mentorship programs, the efforts are diverse—but the mission is the same: to create positive, lasting change.

“Founders’ Month is a powerful reflection of Turner’s Active Caring culture and honors our founding values through service,” said Fuquan Collins, Vice President, Turner Construction Company. “This year’s theme, ‘Underserved Youth,’ highlights the critical need to support young people facing significant challenges. Throughout the month, our people will partner with local community organizations to volunteer and create meaningful change for youth in need. One act of kindness can change a life. Our collective actions can help build brighter futures for youth and create lasting impact through service.”

Projects planned this year include the refurbishment of youth centers, STEM workshops for students in under-resourced schools, playground builds, and career-readiness programs. Turner employees are also teaming up with nonprofit partners to host educational events, distribute school supplies, and provide mentorship opportunities.

“Founders’ Month is a celebration of Turner’s giving spirit,” said Pamyla Fountain Brown, Vice President, Turner Construction Company. “It’s inspiring to see our teams come together to serve others, especially underserved youth who deserve every opportunity to thrive. The tradition of Founders’ Month honors our roots and reflects the heart of who we are. By investing our time and talents, we’re not just building stronger communities but building a better future for all.”

Beyond volunteerism, the initiative underscores Turner’s broader strategy of corporate social responsibility. The company views service not as a one-off effort but as a core business principle. Founders’ Month exemplifies how Turner embeds its values into daily operations and employee engagement.

Since its inception, Turner has maintained that construction is about more than steel and concrete—it’s about people. Founders’ Month is a testament to that belief, reinforcing that building a better world means first being a good neighbor.

By channeling its vast network of employees into meaningful community initiatives, Turner is not only celebrating its past but also investing in the future—particularly for young people whose potential is too often overlooked. Through acts of service, Turner aims to help close opportunity gaps and lay the foundation for brighter, more equitable communities.

Founders’ Month continues to grow in scope and impact each year, solidifying its place as a cornerstone of the company’s culture. As Turner enters its 124th year, the commitment to people—both inside and outside the company—remains as strong as ever.
