Morristown, New Jersey and Nassau, The Bahamas – CCA Construction, Inc. (“CCA”), CCA Bahamas Ltd. (“CCAB”), and CSCEC Bahamas, Ltd. (“CSCECB”) announced that the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New Jersey has officially approved their comprehensive settlement agreement with BML Properties Ltd. (“BMLP”), bringing an end to all outstanding litigation tied to the long-running Baha Mar construction dispute.
The approval marks a substantial step forward in concluding a multiyear conflict over the development of the high-profile resort project. With the ruling in place, all parties now move toward a clean slate, closing one of the most contentious chapters in the Baha Mar saga.
“We are pleased that the Court has approved this resolution, which enables us to focus exclusively on our strategy for delivering world-class construction projects and hospitality operations to our customers worldwide,” said Yan Wei, Chairman & CEO of CCA. “We are grateful for the steadfast support of our customers, team and partners as we move forward to embrace future opportunities.”
Under the terms of the agreement, BMLP will withdraw all claims filed in both the U.S. and The Bahamas against CCA, CCAB, CSCECB, and their affiliated companies. The settlement includes no admission of liability by the CCA entities, a key condition they emphasized throughout the negotiation process.
CCAB will continue to hold its ownership stake in the British Colonial and Margaritaville Beach Resort hotels—two prominent properties on New Providence. The company noted that these assets, now free from the cloud of litigation, are expected to “benefit the entire Bahamian community well into the future,” reinforcing the company’s commitment to contributing to the region’s tourism and economic development.
Industry analysts say the resolution is likely to strengthen CCA’s operational footing in the Caribbean and U.S. markets by freeing the company from legal uncertainty and enabling it to concentrate on new initiatives and expansion plans.
