Elecosoft Expands Free Asta Program for Colleges

HOUSTON — Elecosoft, a global leader in construction scheduling and project controls software, is deepening its investment in education through its growing Asta Academic Partnership Program, which provides free access to its flagship Asta Powerproject platform for qualified colleges and universities.

The initiative is designed to help students gain real-world, practical experience with the same powerful scheduling and project management tools that contractors, schedulers, and project teams rely on to plan and deliver complex construction projects around the globe.

So far, Elecosoft has teamed up with 26 academic institutions, including well-known engineering and construction management programs at the University of Denver, Purdue University, the University of Notre Dame, the University of Texas-San Antonio, and the Colorado School of Mines — with more universities expected to join soon.

Purpose-built for the construction industry, Asta Powerproject is valued for its ease of use and robust functionality, offering features like 4D BIM integration, mobile progress tracking, and enterprise-level resource management — tools that align closely with how major projects are delivered in the real world.

“This renewed focus reflects our commitment to shaping the next generation of construction professionals,” said David Hernandez, Head of U.S. Operations at Elecosoft. “We’re not just offering software, we’re helping bridge the gap between academic theory and industry application, so students graduate better prepared to lead and deliver value to their employers.”

The company is also working closely with faculty to ensure Asta Powerproject can be integrated into construction management and engineering curriculums effectively. Expanded training materials, onboarding support, and curriculum guidance are all part of the enhanced push to make the tool more accessible to instructors and students alike.

“By integrating Asta Powerproject into the curriculum, educators are able to introduce students to the real-world complexities of project planning and controls,” Hernandez added. “It’s not just about learning software, it’s about shaping a mindset that prioritizes proactive planning, collaboration, and delivering successful project outcomes.”

For Elecosoft, this effort aligns with its broader mission to improve the delivery of construction and infrastructure projects worldwide. By giving students a head start with the same tools they’ll use in the field, the company hopes to encourage a shift from reactive workflows to more outcome-focused planning and execution across the next generation of construction leaders.

Future phases of the Asta Academic Partnership Program may expand to include additional Elecosoft solutions, such as project portfolio management and asset lifecycle tools — giving students exposure to the full project lifecycle and the integrated digital strategies used by leading AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations) firms.
