F.H. Paschen Kicks Off Electric Vehicle Charging Station Project at Fairfax County Government Center

Company’s Power & Energy portfolio grows with scalable public and fleet vehicle charging hub
FAIRFAX, VA - National construction firm F.H. Paschen has officially broke ground on the installation of new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Fairfax County Government Center (12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA). The $1.5M power and energy utility upgrade will add twenty (20) active EV charging ports alongside 16 future-proofed expansion conduit pathways, enabling seamless and cost-effective scaling as the county's electric fleet grows.
Across the two primary parking lots, the new chargers are being installed to handle both the increasing number of county-owned electric vehicles and public visitors to the complex.
Fairfax County is home to 1.2 million residents with more than 500K individual visits to the Government Center for a range of administrative, judicial and employment matters.
This EV project marks another step forward in Fairfax County’s plan to modernize its public facilities and support a sustainable fleet, in line with the County’s goal and commitment to become carbon neutral by 2040.
This latest EV charging station installation project directly builds upon F.H. Paschen’s expanding power and energy footprint across the Mid-Atlantic region. The firm’s recent sustainable infrastructure portfolio includes installing dual-port charging stations at the Jermantown Department of Vehicle Services (DVS), constructing a ten-station electrical distribution network at the Fairfax County Public Safety Headquarters garage, and deploying comprehensive underground EV utilities at Tuscarora High School.
"We’re seeing more EVs on the roads everyday. These new EV charging stations allow our team to bring our energy and power technical expertise to the Fairfax County Government Center, allowing those EVs to get charged and back on the road," said Sean McCormick, Project Manager at F.H. Paschen. "Our focus is on executing this high-precision utility work efficiently, safely, and with the minimal disruption that complex municipal environments demand."
The project arrives following some recent recognition from the County. The Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services recently presented F.H. Paschen with its 2025-2026 Award of Excellence for Building Design and Construction.
"We live here in Fairfax County, so anytime we can improve the transportation infrastructure is important to our team," said Charles Lawler, Vice President and head of the Mid-Atlantic region for F.H. Paschen. "This new project allows us to continue our partnership with the County, delivering sustainable public assets that match County leadership’s fiscal responsibility and forward-thinking vision."
