Firm recognized for courtroom renovations, youth center accessibility upgrades, and green energy infrastructure

FAIRFAX, VA — F.H. Paschen has been selected to receive the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services 2025-2026 Award of Excellence for Building Design and Construction. The honor recognizes the company’s performance across three distinct public works initiatives in Northern Virginia.

Fairfax County, the most populated county in the Washington, D.C. metro area and home to more than 1 million residents, recently awarded the Excellence Award to F.H. Paschen for its work on the Fairfax Courtroom Renovations Phase IV-A, the McLean Community Center Old Firehouse Teen Center ADA Bathroom Renovation, and the Jermantown DVS EV Charging Station projects. The awards program took place this week at the Fairfax County Government Center in Fairfax.

This award marks a repeat recognition for the firm in Fairfax County. F.H. Paschen previously secured a similar Award of Excellence in 2025 from the municipality for its work on the Fairfax County Courthouse and the Hybla Valley Community Center and in 2021 for its work on the Fairfax County Salt Dome construction project.

The three critical projects highlight the firm's varied capabilities in the Mid-Atlantic region, spanning specialized municipal upgrades, historical adaptation, community facility accessibility modifications and green energy infrastructure.

"Our focus is always on making a real impact for the residents of Fairfax County," said Charles Lawler, vice president and head of the Mid-Atlantic region for F.H. Paschen. "Whether we are upgrading local courtrooms, improving youth facilities, or building EV charging stations, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality upgrades in a fiscally responsible way. We appreciate the county’s recognition of our work."

The wins underscore the contractor's expanding portfolio in the Mid-Atlantic public construction market, where it frequently utilizes delivery methods like Job Order Contracting to execute public agency work efficiently.

"This latest ‘Award for Excellence’ from Fairfax County reflects our commitment to building strong partnerships with local governments," said Tom Cross, chief growth officer of F.H. Paschen. "By focusing on clear execution and local accountability, we ensure that county investments translate into durable, functional spaces for the community."

Operating in the Mid-Atlantic region for more than 15 years, F.H. Paschen has delivered more than $300 million in completed work, with a dedicated local team now exceeding 50 employees. The office’s geographic focus spans Loudoun and Fairfax counties and beyond, where it has earned a reputation for quality execution and long-term client relationships.
