Amteck has expanded its operating capacity in the Charleston region by moving its electrical contracting team into a larger facility designed to support growing client demand across South Carolina’s Lowcountry. The relocation strengthens the company’s regional presence as construction and service requirements increase across healthcare, manufacturing, higher education and mission-critical sectors.

New Facility Supports Regional Service Capacity

Located on Palmetto Commerce Parkway, the upgraded facility provides Amteck’s Charleston operation with additional capacity and a more central position within its service area. The company expects the location to help its team respond more efficiently to clients throughout the greater Charleston region.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 22, 2026, marked the opening. Attendees included government officials, clients, suppliers, industry representatives, employees and representatives from the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.

The relocation builds on the existing operation and provides a base for further growth as the company develops its regional capabilities.

Electrical Services Target Growing Industry Demand

Amteck serves commercial, industrial and mission-critical markets through four core divisions: design-build, electrical service, technologies and life safety. Its services cover multiple stages of a facility’s lifecycle, from initial construction through ongoing maintenance and operational support.

The Charleston expansion is intended to help the company meet demand from facilities that depend on reliable electrical systems and timely technical support. These needs are particularly relevant in healthcare, manufacturing, higher education and mission-critical environments.

The company also identified local workforce development as a priority, with the expanded operation expected to support opportunities for employees to build long-term careers in the region.

Why It Matters for Electrical Construction

Regional facility expansions can help electrical contractors improve service coverage, coordinate project delivery and respond to clients with ongoing operational requirements. As commercial and industrial development continues across the Southeast, contractors with established local teams may be better positioned to support both new construction and existing facilities.

Amteck’s Charleston relocation represents an investment in its regional operating platform, although the company did not disclose the facility’s size, investment value or employee capacity.
