Progress on a new self-storage development in Toronto has moved from major exterior construction activities toward interior fit-outs and site improvements. The project at 345 Danforth Road is being delivered through a partnership between Rossclair Contractors and StorageMart.
During a September 2022 site visit, StorageMart Construction Lead Dave Clarke reviewed progress at the facility. Work completed over the preceding month included siding, roofing, curtain wall and glass installation, substantially advancing the building’s exterior.
Crews had also begun installing storage locker framing on the sixth floor, marking progress on the facility’s internal storage layout.
Interior construction was expected to be a primary focus over the next three months, with storage locker installation and drywall work scheduled throughout the building.
In parallel, site services were planned for installation in the following month. This work was expected to support completion of the south and west exterior elevations, followed by landscaping and other ground improvements.
The project illustrates the coordination required to move a multi-storey self-storage facility from exterior construction into interior fit-out and site completion. Sequencing building services, locker installation, drywall and exterior works is important to progressing the development toward completion in a constrained urban setting.
