Healthcare construction projects require coordination between building systems, clinical operations and technology to prepare facilities for patient care. STV has been selected to manage project delivery for NYU Langone Health’s planned ambulatory surgery centre in West Palm Beach, Florida, as the health system expands its outpatient services in South Florida.
The proposed facility will encompass approximately 181,000 square feet across eight storeys. Plans call for space serving 50 physicians and capacity for up to 150,000 patient visits each year.
Clinical services are expected to include diagnostic imaging, outpatient surgical procedures, endoscopy and physical therapy. The facility will expand the health system’s outpatient care presence in the West Palm Beach area.
The project adds to healthcare construction activity focused on facilities that deliver specialised services outside traditional hospital settings. Such developments require planning for clinical workflows, patient access and the integration of medical and building systems.
STV will provide owner’s project management services across the project lifecycle, including budgeting, design coordination, construction management and activation.
The work will involve aligning clinical, facilities, construction and technology teams as the project progresses toward opening. This coordination is important for integrating operational requirements into design and construction decisions and preparing the facility for clinical use.
STV’s healthcare portfolio includes work on the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital Tower, St. Joseph’s Totowa Health Campus and UMass Memorial Health’s standalone emergency department.
For healthcare owners, outpatient facilities present delivery requirements that extend beyond the building structure to clinical equipment, operational readiness and technology integration. Early coordination among project stakeholders can help align construction decisions with the intended use of clinical spaces.
The West Palm Beach project illustrates continued investment in outpatient healthcare infrastructure in Florida. STV’s appointment places responsibility for project management and delivery coordination with a firm experienced in healthcare facilities and broader infrastructure programmes.
