Highlights

  • Acme Brick Company received recognition in seven 2026 workplace categories.

  • Additional categories covered parents and families, leadership, manufacturing, perks and benefits, and mental well-being.

Workforce retention and employee engagement remain important considerations for construction-material manufacturers, where production operations and distribution networks depend on maintaining a stable skilled workforce. Acme Brick Company has received recognition across seven workplace categories in Newsweek's 2026 rankings.

Workplace and Manufacturing Recognition

Acme Brick received a four-star rating in the overall workplace category. The company was also recognized for workplaces serving parents and families, leadership, and manufacturing, with four stars in each category.

The manufacturing recognition is particularly relevant to the building-material sector, where manufacturers support construction supply chains through production, distribution and product availability.

Acme Brick also received five stars in the workplace trust category. Its recognition for perks and benefits received five stars, while the mental well-being category received a four-and-a-half-star rating.

The rankings evaluate workplace experiences across multiple dimensions rather than focusing solely on compensation or job titles. For construction-material companies, these areas can affect workforce recruitment and retention across manufacturing, logistics, sales and other operational functions.

Survey Data Behind the Rankings

The 2026 rankings were based on a nationwide research process conducted from April through October 2025. Newsweek and its data partners gathered responses from more than 179,000 employees and more than 2.7 million company reviews.

The research combined survey responses, company reviews, online access panels and anonymous interviews to evaluate participating employers.

Acme Brick's 2026 workplace recognition follows several employer rankings earlier in the year. The company was included in Forbes' America’s Best Midsize Employers, America’s Best Employers for New Grads and America’s Best Employers for Women lists.

Workforce Implications for Building-Material Manufacturers

Acme Brick's multiple workplace recognitions provide an indicator of the workforce issues facing large building-material manufacturers, including leadership, employee trust, family support and workplace benefits.

Acme Brick, founded in 1891, manufactures clay brick and distributes brick and other building products through operations serving markets across 13 states in the Southwest and Southeast. Its products are also distributed nationally through a broader distributor network.

For construction owners and contractors, the workforce stability of material manufacturers can have downstream importance because manufacturers and distributors are part of the supply chain supporting project schedules, material procurement and field operations. Maintaining an experienced manufacturing and distribution workforce can therefore contribute to continuity across construction-material supply networks.
