AGC/VT Meeting Celebrates Vermont's Construction Industry
The Associated General Contractors of Vermont (AGC/VT) marked its 90th anniversary during the 2024 Annual Meeting and Best Builder Awards Banquet, held on December 3-4, 2024. This milestone event showcased the association's dedication to Vermont's construction sector.
The event began on December 3 with a virtual session featuring a keynote by Senator Peter Welch, addressing topics like government relations, economic forecasts, and safety and mental health investments. On December 4, attendees gathered at the Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain, where sessions covered topics including legal contracts, fall protection, and operations.
During the meeting, AGC/VT introduced its 2025 Executive Board, with John Casella II of Casella Construction taking over as President, succeeding Jason Sicard, who was recognized for his leadership as 2024 President.
The Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony concluded the event, celebrating exceptional projects in categories like new construction, innovation, and historical reconstruction. The ceremony also honored individuals for their contributions to Vermont's construction industry.
A highlight of the event was the yearly raffle, with a unique new prize this year—a mini bike! The raffle stirred up friendly competition, with Zack Thompson from Casella Construction winning the prize. The event concluded with a sense of camaraderie, with AGC/VT looking forward to even more excitement in next year’s raffle.
