Held on December 3 in Burlington, the ceremony drew nearly 300 construction leaders, project teams, and industry partners—making it the organization’s largest annual gathering to date. The event also marked a moment of transition for AGC/VT as members honored outgoing president John Casella of Casella Construction Inc. for his leadership and service over the past year.
This year’s award-winning projects covered a wide range of categories—from emergency infrastructure rebuilds and industrial renovations to senior living communities, highway construction, sustainable housing, and educational facilities. They also showcased the geographic breadth of Vermont’s construction activity, spanning communities from Craftsbury to Windsor and Colchester to Middlebury.
AGC/VT Executive Vice President Richard Wobby praised the caliber of submissions, noting how the work reflects the strength and consistency of Vermont’s contractors.
“Every year we evaluate submissions to our Best Builder Awards, I’m more impressed by our members’ incredible work,” Wobby said. “Each winner represents the skill and integrity that define our industry and strengthen our state’s infrastructure, economy and way of life.”
Outgoing AGC/VT president John Casella Jr. echoed Wobby’s sentiments, emphasizing the broader significance of the awards.
“The Best Builders Awards are more than plaques. They’re a celebration of the people and companies shaping Vermont’s future,” Casella said. “From bridges and highways to sustainable housing and community spaces, these projects reflect the values of quality, safety and innovation for which our industry stands.”
The 13 honorees include firms recognized for technical excellence, innovative approaches, emergency response work, and contributions to community development. Highlights include:
