Arizona’s commercial construction market is gaining another experienced business development executive as Alcorn Construction expands its team in the state. The general contractor has appointed Dean Howard as business development manager for its Arizona operations.
Howard brings more than two decades of experience in business development, strategic market growth and economic development. His professional background includes work across industrial, infrastructure, aviation, health care and public-sector markets.
At Alcorn, Howard will identify new business opportunities, support strategic pursuits and develop relationships with clients and industry stakeholders across Arizona.
Before joining Alcorn, Howard served as vice president of business development at Chanen Construction. His responsibilities included rebuilding the company’s Arizona presence and expanding relationships with developers, architects, municipal officials and other industry participants.
Howard’s previous work included business development and market-positioning activities involving health care, commercial, aviation, hospitality, municipal and public-sector projects.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Arizona State University and has participated in professional and civic organizations focused on economic development, workforce initiatives and business growth.
Alcorn Construction operates in Arizona and Colorado and provides general contracting services for commercial office, light industrial, retail, multifamily and senior living projects.
Business development leadership can influence how contractors identify project opportunities, establish client relationships and build pipelines across regional markets. Howard’s appointment adds an executive with experience across multiple Arizona construction sectors as Alcorn continues developing its operations in the state.
