Ames Construction is expanding its campus recruiting efforts this fall, with career fairs scheduled at universities across the United States to connect students with engineering, construction and internship opportunities.
Ames Construction plans to participate in career fairs throughout September, October and November 2026. September events include campuses such as the University of South Carolina, Arizona State University, Iowa State University, University of Minnesota, University of Tennessee and North Carolina State University.
Additional recruiting events are scheduled at universities including Northern Arizona University, University of Arizona, University of Colorado Denver, Cal Poly Pomona, University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Utah Valley University during October and November.
The recruiting campaign targets students interested in engineering and construction careers, providing opportunities to learn about Ames Construction's projects, internships and employment opportunities.
Ames Construction is an employee-owned heavy civil and industrial contractor involved in highways, bridges, mines, dams, rail and other infrastructure projects. Its campus recruiting effort comes as contractors continue to develop talent pipelines for technical and field positions needed to deliver major infrastructure projects.
The company said its teams will use the career fairs to discuss project work and career paths with students across engineering and construction programs.
Expanding university recruiting can help heavy civil contractors build relationships with students before graduation and strengthen pipelines for entry-level engineering, field and project positions. For contractors facing persistent workforce needs, sustained campus engagement and internship programs remain important tools for developing the next generation of construction professionals.
