The awards will be presented during a formal banquet returning to Merrillville, where contractors, project owners and industry leaders will gather to celebrate accomplishments from the previous year. The event is jointly hosted by the Northwest Indiana Business RoundTable (NWIBRT) and the Construction Advancement Foundation (CAF), longtime partners in promoting safety, quality and professional excellence in the regional construction sector.
NWIBRT’s awards program places a strong emphasis on workplace safety performance, while CAF’s honors spotlight exceptional contractors and project outcomes that demonstrate best practices, innovation and craftsmanship. Together, the organizations aim to highlight companies and individuals who set a high standard for the industry.

Companies and individuals interested in participating can review award criteria and submit applications through the NWIBRT Awards Banquet webpage. Applications will be accepted through Feb. 16, giving contractors, project teams and employers several weeks to prepare submissions.
The annual banquet regularly draws more than 600 construction professionals, making it one of the region’s largest industry gatherings. Award selections are based on a range of performance metrics, including injury rates, incident statistics and total hours worked, ensuring that safety achievements are measured comprehensively and consistently.
In addition to company-wide safety awards, the banquet will also recognize individual excellence. Honors will be presented to standout craft professionals, safety leaders and workers who demonstrated extraordinary heroism on the job, underscoring the personal commitment behind safe and successful construction projects.
The 2026 CAF/NWIBRT Awards Banquet is scheduled for Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Avalon Manor in Merrillville, Indiana. Additional information on sponsorship opportunities, event updates and application details is available at NWIBRT.org.
