Based in Plymouth, Minnesota, Baldwin Supply is a privately held distributor serving customers across a wide range of industries, including food and beverage, manufacturing, aggregate, agriculture, packaging and material handling. The acquisition strengthens Baldwin’s presence in the Midwest while expanding its ability to support original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) customers.

CAP operates locations in Des Moines, Iowa, and Lenexa, Kansas, and supplies critical components to customers in the aggregate, mining and construction sectors. Company officials said the transaction enhances Baldwin Supply’s regional reach and technical capabilities in markets with strong infrastructure and materials demand.

“The acquisition will expand Baldwin Supply’s ability to serve customers in the OEM and MRO space,” the company said in a Dec. 31 news release.

Baldwin President Rob LaRue said the two organizations share similar values and long-term growth goals in the Iowa market.

“CAP has an excellent reputation and a great team in place. Our values are aligned and we see a lot of potential in continuing to invest in the state of Iowa,” LaRue said. “We’re excited to move forward together, combining the resources of the two leading independent distributors in the area. This is truly a win for both organizations, our employees and our customers.”

CAP President Dana Raley said joining Baldwin Supply allows the company to maintain its customer-focused culture while gaining access to broader resources and growth opportunities.

“Construction & Aggregate Products has always been built around strong relationships with our customers and our employees. Joining Baldwin Supply allows us to preserve what makes CAP special while gaining the scale, resources, and opportunities of a larger organization. I’m confident this move positions our customers for continued success and opens new doors for our team members.”

The acquisition builds on Baldwin Supply’s recent investments aimed at expanding its service and production capabilities. The company has developed conveyor belt production facilities in Fridley, Minnesota; Appleton, Wisconsin; and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, while also growing its service teams to support customers across multiple industrial segments.

Industry observers note that consolidation among regional distributors continues as companies seek to broaden geographic coverage, deepen technical expertise and better serve customers navigating supply chain complexity and increased equipment demand.
