DALLAS, Texas — Balfour Beatty US has earned national recognition from Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) 2025 Best Projects Awards program, with three of its projects honored across multiple regions. The recognition highlights Balfour Beatty’s ongoing commitment to safety, sustainability, innovation, and high-quality construction throughout the United States.

The ENR Best Projects Awards celebrate the most outstanding construction achievements across the U.S. and Puerto Rico each year. Projects are selected by juries of industry professionals who evaluate them on multiple criteria, including safety performance, innovation, community impact, and design excellence.

The 2025 award-winning Balfour Beatty projects include:

Grand Hyatt Scottsdale (Best Renovation/Restoration Project, ENR Southwest)

A large-scale renovation project that reimagined one of Arizona’s most iconic hotels, featuring six new dining experiences — La Zozzona, Tiki Taka, Mesa Centrale, Grand Vista Lounge, Sandbar, and H2Oasis — along with a transformed lobby bar, expanded ballroom space, and a complete overhaul of the pool complex and outdoor bar areas.

Del Mar Heights School (Best K-12 Education Project, ENR West)

A full campus rebuild for the Del Mar Union School District in California, featuring modern academic buildings, STEAM+ learning studios, after-school rooms, an administration center, multiuse room with stage, and outdoor amenities such as an amphitheater, gardens, play fields, and innovation spaces designed to foster collaborative learning.

Caltrain Electrification (Award of Merit, Specialty Construction, ENR West)

A transformative infrastructure project electrifying 52 miles of commuter rail between San Francisco and San Jose, California. Through design-build services, Balfour Beatty enhanced performance, safety, sustainability, and reliability for one of the region’s most critical public transit systems.

Commitment to Excellence and Community Impact

“We are proud to be recognized by ENR for these award-winning projects that exemplify the talent, innovation and dedication of all of our teammates,” said Eric Stenman, Balfour Beatty US president and chief executive officer. “From revitalizing hospitality experiences in Scottsdale to advancing sustainable transit in California and reimagining educational environments for future generations, these awards affirm our commitment to building with purpose and excellence.”

These projects collectively demonstrate Balfour Beatty’s ability to deliver across diverse sectors — from hospitality and education to major transportation infrastructure — while prioritizing sustainability, safety, and community enrichment.

Innovation and Industry Leadership

The company’s success in the ENR Best Projects Awards underscores its ongoing investment in advanced construction technologies and collaborative delivery models that improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Each project showcases how Balfour Beatty integrates digital tools, sustainable materials, and local engagement to achieve exceptional outcomes for clients and communities alike.

Beyond its award-winning work, Balfour Beatty continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the U.S. construction industry by developing resilient infrastructure, fostering workforce growth, and advancing green building standards across its nationwide portfolio.
