Construction has officially begun on a new Banner Health campus in Scottsdale that aims to significantly expand medical services in the North Valley. The health care provider broke ground Wednesday on the highly anticipated facility, which will include a range of outpatient services designed to serve a growing population in the region.
The new 12,000-square-foot medical campus is located near Hayden Road and Mayo Boulevard and marks the first phase of what Banner says will be a major investment in delivering state-of-the-art health care to residents in and around Scottsdale.

According to Banner Health, the facility will provide world-class outpatient and cancer care, anchored by the inclusion of a new Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, which will bring the organization’s nationally recognized oncology services to the area.
In addition to the cancer center, the Scottsdale campus will house a surgery center, on-site pharmacy, and urgent care clinic to serve a broad spectrum of patient needs. The goal is to create a centralized, accessible destination for everything from routine care to specialized treatment.
“The expansion into Scottsdale is a reflection of our commitment to improving access to high-quality care in fast-growing communities,” said a spokesperson from Banner Health. “We’re excited to bring these services closer to home for many of our patients in the North Valley.”
The health care provider emphasized that the campus is part of a larger regional strategy to meet demand as the population of Maricopa County continues to rise. The new facility is also expected to generate new employment opportunities for health professionals in the area, ranging from physicians and nurses to administrative and support staff.
Construction is expected to take about two years, with project completion targeted for early 2027. Once operational, the Scottsdale campus will join the ranks of Banner’s other regional centers, which include both outpatient and inpatient facilities throughout Arizona.
The development is being closely watched by health care industry observers and local leaders who are eager to see continued investment in accessible, top-tier care as Scottsdale grows.
In its official statement, Banner said the Scottsdale campus is part of a broader vision to provide “comprehensive, connected care” across the Valley, especially as Arizona's aging population and in-migration trends place increasing pressure on the state's health care infrastructure.
“This project represents our vision for the future of health care delivery,” the Banner spokesperson added. “We’re bringing together advanced technology, clinical expertise, and convenient access—all under one roof.”
