The completion of a new career and technical education facility in Plattsburgh, New York, expands space for workforce training and career-focused instruction for high school and adult students across the North Country region.
BBL has completed the approximately 154,078-square-foot, two-story CVES BOCES Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center. The project adds purpose-built instructional and training space designed to accommodate a range of technical education programs.
The new center includes 10 high-bay training areas, each supported by accompanying classrooms, along with 18 additional classroom and program spaces. The facility also contains a large dining and conference area and a dedicated school food hub.
The project included construction of an approximately 11,343-square-foot accessory annex building, adding supporting space to the overall campus.
The facility is intended to provide modern learning environments for both secondary and adult education programs, supporting hands-on instruction and career preparation.
The completed center increases the region's capacity to provide career and technical education in facilities designed around workforce-oriented programs. Its combination of high-bay training areas, classrooms and specialized program spaces allows educational activities to be organized around both classroom instruction and practical training.
The project also supports broader workforce development efforts in the North Country by providing students with expanded opportunities to develop skills connected to regional employment needs.
For construction and education stakeholders, the project demonstrates continued investment in facilities that combine traditional classroom space with specialized environments for technical training. The scale and program mix of the new CTE center provide CVES BOCES with expanded capacity to serve high school and adult learners while supporting workforce development in the Plattsburgh region.
